I am excited to announce my first solo exhibition Refraction at the WKP Kennedy Gallery June 4th - July 27th with Opening Reception Friday June 7th 7pm-9pm. This exhibition includes all new works completed in 2019.
The WKP is a very large space which allowed and pushed me outside of my comfort zone, leading into experimentation and installation based works. It also gave me the amazing opportunity to pull in one of my best friends, Allison Roberts, a photographer by day and projection / light experimenter by night. This lead to working (and fighting with) the mirror and media based installation pieces.
For me, Refraction is a series of drawings and installation based works that act as mirages. They are all images that change or alter as they pass through one medium into another, creating distorted, dismantled, reassembled renditions of the originals. Each work is a memory of a moment that never happened.
Documentation of work will be updated soon.
